Richard Sears is an award-winning Executive Creative Director and visionary leader with 15+ years of experience designing immersive activations, branded entertainment, and 360° marketing campaigns for the world’s most influential brands, studios, and cultural icons.
Beginning his career in broadcast and film, Richard quickly established himself as a storyteller who thrives at the intersection of creativity, technology, and experience design. Over the past two decades, he has built a career marked by Cannes-recognized filmmaking, Clio-winning campaigns, and global franchise launches that redefine how audiences engage with entertainment and brands.
Currently, Richard serves as Senior Director of Experiential at Sphere Entertainment, where he leads all Atrium activations—transforming the venue into a dynamic platform for residencies, films, and global partners. His recent work includes The Wizard of Oz immersive activation, V-U2, and experiences for Google NEXT, HPE, ServiceNow, Delta Air Lines, and Dead & Company.
Previously, as West Coast Group Creative Director at Jack Morton Worldwide, Richard directed Amazon Studios’ Hotel Transformania (Clio Award Winner), Riot Games’ Arcane premiere, and global activations for McDonald’s WWC24. Before that, he launched the global experiential division at MC², producing award-winning campaigns for Netflix (Bird Box, The Witcher, The Dirt), Samsung, and Ticketmaster. Earlier at NEON, he created large-scale international franchise experiences including Marvel Studios’ Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. and Hasbro’s Transformers: Autobots Alliance.
Across his career, Richard has partnered with a roster of iconic clients—including Netflix, Amazon Studios, Sony PlayStation, Marvel Studios, Riot Games, Samsung, Hasbro, Google, McDonald’s, Bud Light, Nissan, Toyota, Burger King, and Nintendo. His expertise spans immersive activations, digital experiences, live events, film, promos, and integrated content, consistently merging creative vision with strategic insight to deliver culturally impactful experiences that also drive measurable business success.
